
Who Am I?
Currently, Doreen serves as a Project Officer at the Kenya Community Media Network, where she coordinates media training for community groups, oversees productions, and facilitates networking opportunities for journalists. Her career highlights include a decade at Koch FM, where she held roles as Station Manager, Editor, and Radio Presenter, as well as experience with BBC Media Action and BBC Swahili, where she contributed as a presenter and reporter.
Empowering, Visionary, Resilient
Doreen has trained over 500 interns and attachments, drawing from her experience with top organizations such as the Institute of War and Peace Reporting and BBC Media Action. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Zetech University and has completed specialized training in radio production and health reporting through UNESCO, Internews, Thomson Reuters, and BBC. Currently, Doreen is expanding her skills in digital marketing and media viability to better serve community media in today’s digital-first environment.
Her passion for socio-economic issues, conflict-sensitive reporting, and community development continues to drive her commitment to empowering local voices through media.
